Saffron is one of the valuable and popular plants in Iran, whose cultivation requires special conditions. One of the most important conditions for growing saffron is suitable soil, which should have clay-sand texture, good drainage, balanced pH and sufficient depth. But is it possible to grow saffron without soil?
The answer to this question is positive. Using methods Hydroponic and Aquaponics، می توان زعفران را در محلول های غذایی مخصوص و بدون نیاز به خاک پرورش داد. این روش ها دارای مزایایی هستند که در ادامه به آنها اشاره میکنیم.
- صرفه جویی در آب و فضا: با استفاده از روش های هیدروپونیک و آکوپونیک، مصرف آب تا ۹۰ درصد کاهش می یابد و فضای کمتری نسبت به کشت سنتی نیاز است. این عوامل باعث میشود که هزینه های تولید کاهش یابد و سودآوری بالاتر شود.
- افزایش عملکرد و کیفیت: با تنظیم دقیق شرایط محیطی مانند دما، رطوبت، نور، pH و تغذیه، میتوان عملکرد و کیفیت گل های زعفران را بهبود بخشید. برخی از تحقیقات نشان دادهاند که روش های هیدروپونیک و آکوپونیک باعث افزایش قابل توجه تولید پسته، صبر و کروسین (ماده رنگزای زعفران) در گلهای زعفران شده اند .
- Reduction of diseases and pests: By removing soil from the cultivation process, the risk of contracting diseases and pest attacks caused by soil is greatly reduced. This will reduce the need to use chemicals and poisons and make production healthier and more organic.
Considering the above advantages, it can be said that the cultivation of saffron without soil is a new and attractive challenge for researchers and entrepreneurs in the field of agriculture. But to be successful in this method, there is a need for sufficient knowledge and experience in the field of designing, implementing and maintaining hydroponic and aquaponic systems. It is also necessary to respond appropriately to challenges such as supplying equipment, food solutions, appropriate seeds and seedlings, marketing and sales of manufactured products.
